In Yabalá, children can be enrolled from the age of six months up until 5 years of age. The level at which the child begins his or her experience at Yabalá will depend on age, and the cognitive and emotional development at the moment of enrollment.
Yabalá has 4 different levels, based on the Montessori method.
Infants
The objective with this class is to introduce children to a new social environment, that includes other kids their age and teachers that will guide them through the process of becoming familiarized with class discipline and rules.
The goal in this age group is to promote sensorial development through art, music, story-telling and extracurricular activity.
Toddler 01
In this age group there will be a basic introduction to upper level class work, as well as fine motor skills development through practical life. Children start to work with materials in sensorial, language, math and art, with the complimentary extracurricular activities. Children also start becoming conscious of what sharing with their peers actually means.
Toddler 02
This level promotes child independence with the objective of achieving high self-esteem in each child, taking advantage of the fact that at this age, children are more in control of their fine motor skills.
At this level, children use Montessori materials in the areas of practical life, math, language, sensorial, art and extracurricular activities.
3 to 5 Class
At this level, children will actively use Montessori materials in the areas of practical life, math and language. Children are also introduced to work in science and geography. At this level, the child reaches maximum Montessori capacity by applying the acquired knowledge from all prior levels at Yabalá.
This class objective is to achieve harmony within the child, where development has reached equilibrium between academic and emotional development, which will allow the child to successfully transition into his or her school years.
